How We Treat loose skin & Causes
Heat is transferred sub-dermally when the Opus Plasma contacts the skin, causing the elastin and collagen to shrink while producing immediate skin-tightening effects.
There are many factors to consider when we talk about loose skin, but here are the most common reasons that lead to an excess of loose skin.
Aging
As your body produces less collagen and elastin over the course of your life, the skin will naturally become less flexible and firm. Elastin fibers are what helps the skin regain its natural structure after being stretched.
Sun Exposure
UV rays affects the elasticity and collagen production as well, but at a much faster rate than aging. The sun kills skins cells which break down the elastin and collagen leaving behind loose skin.
Weight Loss
Losing a large sum of weight in a short period of time whether that be due to exercise, bariatric surgery, pregnancy, or health related concerns can lead the loss of collagen and elastin in the skin. The quicker you lose this volume, the less amount of time the skin has to recover which causes loose skin.
Smoking
Smoking and sun exposure work almost the same as they both lead to premature aging. The nicotine in cigarettes can narrow blood vessels in the outermost layers of the skin. This causes the blood flow in the skin to disrupt which almost always leads to less oxygen and nutrients that make it to the skin cells. Without the proper nutrients, the skin cells will die and leave you with premature loose skin.
Tips to avoid loose skin
Maintain a Healthy Diet – Balanced diets with vitamin A, C, E, and minerals with silicon and zinc can help support healthier skin. Eating less fatty, processed, and sugary foods will lessen inflammation and premature cell damage.
Stay Hydrated – Drinking lots of water helps to keep the skin stay moisturized while keeping the cells plump and firm.
Exercise – Weight training is a good way to strengthen, condition, and tone your skin cells. While exercise typically causes weight loss, it will not be excessive causing skin laxity when done properly. Losing up to 3lbs per week will be sure to give your cells enough time to recover to its most natural state.
Practice Good Skincare Health – Stick to a regime that works for you and includes exfoliating, hydration, and rejuvenation. Try to use products with alpha hydroxy, salicylic acid, hyaluronic acid, and retinol-based compounds. Be sure to read the label for these ingredients.
